PAS Will Never Recognise Israel, Says Nik Aziz
KUALA LUMPUR – PAS Spiritual Leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat has reiterated that the party will never recognise “the forbidden state of Israel”.
He said it is an appropriate stand considering that Israel came about by way of the denial of the rights of Muslims and deprivation of the rights of the Palestinian people.
It is forbidden to accept the existence of Israel, all the more when the Israeli authorities engage in the endless torture and killing of the Palestinian people, including children, women and the elderly, he said in a statement published on the party’s website, www.pas.org.my.
“We leave it to (Opposition Leader) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to accept this stand of PAS,” he said.
Nik Aziz’s statement comes in the wake of his meeting with Anwar, who is Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor, over the latter’s statement expressing support for “all efforts to protect the security of the state of Israel”. – BERNAMA
